Dorian Concept
Dorian Concept is a little Austrian bro who released his album earlier in the year. When Planets Explode is a cracker, and it’s been something that I’ve returned to a lot. If you’re a fan of techno, dub-step and instrumental hip-hop: go check it out. Shit’s so new they haven’t even got a name for it.

John Roman
John Roman. He’s a 20 year old Canadian sensation, here once again delivering quality tunes - prepped and ready for you to spazz-out to.
He’s already delivered a killer remix of ‘Heads Will Roll’ and is now stealing hearts, minds and dancefloors with his latest offering - ‘Ready For This’
Are you ready for this?

Dance Dance Dance (again?) →
Yeah, the most remixed song in the world is back again for another spin. This time by Dixon. Trust me - this one is worth another listen. You can stream the full-track on the player. Digging what he’s done to the sax solo.

Beach House - Norway
Beach House’s last album, Devotion, was one of the highlights of 2007. Soothing, soaring and featuring the smokey vocals of Victoria Legrand - it was simply a thing of beauty.
Norway is the bands first single from Teen Dream, due on January through 4AD and is a sure-fire repeat classic. They’ve upped the production values, and by the sounds of things have lost some of...
Canyons
Canyons are Australian duo Ryan Grieve and Leo Thompson, who will be releasing their debut album through Modular sometime in 2010. They’ve recently put a single out through DFA, Fire Eye’s - a disco volcano, and going down a storm with my afternoon coffee.
They’ll be bringing their brand of electro-funk when they remix the Juan Maclean, due out later this year.
Canyons -...
Duck Sauce - aNYway
I want to throw massive love at this tune. I usually tend to stay well clear of anything remotely disco, but this is simply inciting. A-Trak and AVH mentioned that they’d got together to record four tracks earlier in the year - based on this, I hope they’ve reconvened to lay down more funky disco bliss.

CFCF - Big Love
CFCF is Montreal’s Michael Silver, who’s just released his excellent debut record - Continent. You should have already bought the sublime ‘You See Colours’ which was filled with Air France style summer happiness.
Big Love, one of the highlights from the album is like a cleaner version of Memory Tapes, but with a little rave piano thrown in for good measure. We like...

Who Is He? (And What Is He To You)
German DJ and producer Henrik Schwarz has hit absolute perfection with this remix of Bill Withers. You know that feeling when you find a song, and know that it’s going to be on your iPod forever? This is it.
I’m a big fan of Bill Withers and it never occured to me that his music could be re-imagined like this. Plus points.

She Tells Lies - Scatter
A friend sent me this new track, and despite the underneath the hiss of the night is a beautiful, gentle song. Just a girl and her guitar. No beats.

Gold Panda remixes The Field
The Field, easily one of my favourite contemporary artists. Both his albums, ‘From Here We Go Sublime’ and ‘Yesterday and Today’ come highly recommended - so it comes as great news that Kompakt will be issuing a remix album for his latest, Yesterday and Today.
The bad news is, that they aren’t even jazzing up the cover. The Field is winning the worst artwork ever...

Pariah
I’ve been following Pariah since I found his splendid ‘Detroit Falls’ on his MySpace page back in May. Since then he’s been sneaking his way into the lime-light with some tight mixes for The XX and now Ellie Goulding.
Each new thing I hear from Pariah is a massive improvement on the last, so I’m hoping for a few new remixes from this talent before he moves for more...
Darkstar x Kyle Hall
To my ears, this is an updated version of the stuff Massive Attack were putting out, during their Protection era. Straightforward, rhythmic and melodic - which is therefore, pretty close to perfection.
Great remix from Detroit’s young talent Kyle Hall.

Four Tet - Love Cry
In the quick-fire modern era of blog-friendly DJ’s, Four Tet’s a grand old name of electronic music, but he’s always been cutesy trip-hop pianos or glittering eastern percussion to me, so his two releases this year have been a revelation. Love Joy even trumps his work with Burial, which came out earlier in the year.
Four Tet will be releasing his new album in the new year,...
Little Red - That song about Coke
Pepsi might be a little irked by this knowledgable advice from this Australian band, which features no less than three vocalists. Clearly one of the singles of the year, which will no doubt be the soundtrack to a viral from your favourite sugary drinks brands in 2010.
Even better is the B-side, which you should certainly try and hunt down from your local music dealership.
If you live in...
